INCLEMENT WEATHER AND DELAYS
Practices and meets can sometimes be delayed or canceled because of bad weather. In the case of delay or cancellation, both an email and push notification will be sent via the Swimtopia.
Practices
If the pool is open, the team will practice. If weather is bad, stay alert to possible announcements regarding pool closures. It is not possible to make up practices canceled because of bad weather.
NVSL Meets (A Meets)
At NVSL meets, we swim rain or shine. If lightning or thunder halt or delay a meet, please watch for announcements on the team text system, Remind, and/or email. NVSL meets are rarely, if ever, canceled, so it is possible that we will wait out storms before resuming. If there is a delay, swimmers should wait in cars until a decision has been made by the Team Reps on when the meet will resume.
SBDL Meets (B Meets)
At Springfield Burke Developmental League (SBDL) meets, we swim rain or shine. If weather seems questionable, please watch for announcements on the team text system, Remind, and/or email. The Team Reps will communicate as quickly as decisions are made. Sometimes, it is possible for a meet to resume after a delay, so we ask that swimmers not leave the site. If there is inclement weather, swimmers should wait in cars until a decision has been made by the Team Reps on when the meet will resume. It is possible that the decision will be to reschedule or cancel an SBDL meet.
VACATIONS & ABSENCES
The Wahoo team expects all swimmers to be available for all meets. We hope that you will hold your vacation time until after the season. When determining meet lineups for NVSL dual meets and the Division meets, practice and meet attendance will be considered.
LOST & FOUND
Be sure to label everything with your child’s name - especially team gear. It’s easy to misplace something at practice or a meet, and the fastest way to get it back is to have your name on it. The pool maintains a lost and found bin in the baby pool area for towels and clothing. You will find lost goggles in the pool office.
